Affinity, according to the meaning in the etymology is the opposite word of the infinity. There are many “meanings” of this word. According to the Latin translation, this “affinis word means “connected with, have something in common. When you hear about the affinity groups, these groups are the group of people who have the same idea, the same mindset, about everything than they gather together to make some actions about something that they believe.
Mostly, these groups don’t have any kinds of exact organizational structure. They move base on someone’s command, usually someone that somehow being set as their leader (informally). They made so many kinds of actions, and surely some of their actions are related to the humanity. Many of them were gathered together because of the same mindset about the war’s victims or about the disaster’s victims.
The affinity groups usually consist of some activists that have the same idea about something such as war or disasters. So, they arrange some actions together for the war or disaster victims. They action could be a direct help to the field, or could be in other formations such as the scholarships for the kids from the conflict area and the disaster area, or some financial services to recover the area from the disaster effects.
